An International organization employing 20 project managers in its London office involved in both internal and external projects in the financial sector wished to introduce Microsoft Project Portfolio Server. Previously, the client had utilised spreadsheet templates, but following Sarbannes Oxley, there was a requirement from the Head Office in the US to introduce a more structured and auditable project process.

stpsolutions undertook the upgrade of a pilot installation of Microsoft Project Portfolio Server 2005 to the full Microsoft Enterprise Project Management Suite (EPM) comprising Microsoft Office Sharepoint Server 2007, Project Server 2007 and Project Portfolio Server 2007.

This work involved

• the building of Sharepoint templates and workflows to handle all of the processes and documentation involved in PMA project review gate procedures;
• the creation and application of training material;
• the phased roll-out of the final solution; and
• the Sarbannes-Oxley audit by both internal and external auditors.
